Wireless printing in your room

I HAVE A WIRELESS PRINTER, CAN I CONNECT IT USING WI-FI TO MY COMPUTER IN MY COLLEGE ROOM?

No. I am afraid you will need to use a cable between your printer and computer, or a Bluetooth connection.

Eduroam wireless is available in your College bedrooms, however, it does not allow devices to communicate with each other. (This is often the case in larger networks at Universities and colleges in order to give users more protection.)

However, there are three photocopier printers in College – two in the Moffatt Room (BQ6) and one in the Library. You can print to these photocopiers via email attachment straight from a laptop or smartphone, or from one of the computers in the Moffatt Room using the SecureRelease printer installed on the PCs.

For more information about printing via email attachment read our post about Mobile Printing.

If you still wish to use your personally owned printer in your room then we strongly recommend that you print via a USB cable from your computer.
