You may have heard about VPN (Virtual Private Network). This is a method where your computer can appear to be in a different place from where you are physically located. For instance there are some Oxford University resources which you MUST be inside Oxford in order to use them. With VPN you can run some software on your computer which connects back to Oxford and places your computer within the University network. Learn more: http://it.queens.ox.ac.uk/get-connected/vpn/

General information about VPN on smartphones and tablets
Be aware that running the VPN client on your smartphone and tablets WILL drain your battery more quickly. Also that download / upload speeds are affected as you are adding an additional layer of information in order to encapsulate (and secure) your data.
Important – Please Note
VPN uses your OXFORD SSO username and password with MFA.
