Mathematica
Mathematica is a symbolic mathematical computation program, sometimes called a computer algebra program, used in many scientific, engineering, mathematical, and computing fields.
There are two methods for using Mathematica in Oxford.
- University Mathematica Licence Server
The simplest method is to download the installer software and point it at the university network license server, however that means that Mathematica will only work when you are connected to the university network via a wired connection in College / Dept or via Virtual Private Network (VPN) if wireless or outside Oxford. - Mathematica PERSONAL-HOME USE
If you want Mathematica to work without a network connection (e.g. on a laptop), Wolfram also offers a Personal-Home use license which requires you to have a personal account on the Wolfram website associated with the Oxford Mathematica license.
