End of support for Microsoft Office Apps on iOS 10 and earlier versions of iOS

Microsoft Office for iPhone, iPad, and iPad Pro is supported on the two most recent versions of iOS: the latest version of iOS and the previous version.
With iOS 12 now generally available, IT Services are updating the minimum system requirements for Office iOS apps from iOS 10 to iOS 11.

How does this affect me?

Effective October 14, 2018, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote is no longer supported for Office app updates on devices running iOS 10 or earlier.

In November, Outlook will no longer be supported for updates on devices running iOS 10 or earlier.

Once you update your devices to iOS 11 or above, your devices will receive the newest version of Office apps.

If no action is taken, Outlook for iOS will eventually stop synchronizing email and calendar data, and all Office apps will not receive feature and security upgrades.

What do I need to do?

We recommend that you review your Apple devices and update them to iOS 11 or later.
